  • Requires schools and libraries to adopt an “Internet Safety Policy” containing various provisions designed to protect minors from “inappropriate” materials.

Internet Filtering Software for Home
  • Software can be used to filter our harmful websites from being accessed on your computer.  Net Nanny and Cyber Patrol are programs that do just that.  They restrict internet access, monitor online activity, protect personal information, block IRC chat and newsgroups, and are customizable for individual users.

14
Computer Monitoring Software
  • Monitoring software or spy-ware creates logs of children’s online activity.  Programs such as Online recorder secretly run under windows when your computer starts up and it extracts text from internet applications.  It also records every keystroke on your computer without slowing it down or changing it’s performance.

15
Computer Monitoring Software Options
  • Online Recorder
  • Keyboard Monitor
  • Spector Pro
  • Spector for Macintosh
  • Spector for Windows
  • eBlaster
  • iSpyNOW

  • STARR Pro
  • SpyBuddy
  • NETObserve
  • WebMail Spy
  • SpyAgent
  • SpyAnywhere
  • SpyShadow

16
Access Restriction Software
  • The best way to block your child’s access to the Internet at specific times is to install Access Control Software.  It is customizable for different users and is password protected.  With this software, you can make sure that your children are not using the internet when you’re not around to supervise them.
