Thank you for your interest in Old Trail School located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Bath, Ohio. As you familiarize yourself with the information listed on our website, we hope that you begin to get a sense of our school community. We want each prospective familty to learn as much as possible about our school in order to make the best educational decision.

The admission process for each academic year begins in the fall of the year preceding enrollment. View books are available by calling the admission office or emailling the Director of Admission. The view book will offer a visual tour of the school, an overview of the curriculum, and an explanation of the admission process including an application.

Old Trail School hosts several open houses throughout the year for families interested in learning more about the toddler to grade 8 programs Our in-school open houses and Saturday Drop-Ins provide families with an opportunity to tour the school and meet faculty and administration. Please view the 2008-2009 admission calendar on the admission page.

Once a family decides to apply to Old Trail School, the Director of Admission will call to schedule an interview along with a student visitation. Students who apply to grades 1-8 visit the school for a full school day at their current grade level. An Old Trail student will serve as a host, taking the guest to classes and answering questions. Preschool interviews are classified as "play dates". Little ones join the Director of Admission and faculty, while parents meet with Luann Williams, our Primary School Director. Kindergarten screening is held on the last Friday in January.

Old Trail encourages families to plan ahead for the admission process. Many applications are received 6-12 months in advance in order to complete the admission process in a timely manner. Contracts are sent to our current families on February 1 and are returned by March 1, after which we begin filling the remaining spaces. Preschool and kindergarten families receive contracts following the preschool interview and kindergarten screening dates. Applications are reviewed on a "rolling admission" basis as spaces become available throughout the school year.

We look forward to meeting you and working through the admission process together.
