Situated on a 55 acre campus adjacent to the Cuyahoga Valley National
Park, Old Trail School’s buildings and grounds serve to facilitate,
exhilarate and inspire. As one follows the driveway off Ira
Road and parks around the Circle, it is impossible to miss the
graceful traditional architecture joined with the presence of children
who make the bricks and mortar come alive.
To the right, Alderfer and Sisler-McFawn Halls house the primary
grades, while to the left, Noble Hall and the Wilson Wing manage
to comfortably contain the enthusiasms of third through eighth
graders. The Meyo Library and the Burton Morgan Building
with its admission and development offices balance each other while
Firestone Hall (recently renovated) in the middle brings the school community together
at lunch, in the swimming pool and gymnasium, and watching performing
arts presentations.

Incorporated within these buildings are two computer labs; a
state-of-the-art science wing, art facilities including pottery
and fabrics room;, offices for support staff; a nurse’s
station;, separate spaces for general music, band, orchestra,
and piano lessons; a parents association room and school store;
a local artist’s studio; and various nooks and crannies
where children are tutored and small groups of students meet.
Coupled with the buildings lie playing fields for soccer, field
hockey, softball and tennis, as well as age-appropriate playgrounds. An
outdoor amphitheater provides space for contemplation and discussion
as do tables and benches scattered across the campus. |
