Curriculum

Old Trail School offers a dynamic curriculum rich in opportunities for all students. The academically rigorous program assures that students are challenged and supported while building strong skills, gaining valuable knowledge and developing substantial values.

Students are presented with a range of experiences across the core academic program. Development of the whole child is fostered when students are presented with this diversity of subjects. The core curriculum includes: language arts, mathematics, science, social studies/history, world languages, performing arts, visual arts, physical education, health, library literacy and technology. All curriculum is reviewed through an ongoing process which assures alignment with, and often exceeds, state and national standards.

Old Trail School believes in the integration of curriculum across grade levels and subjects. Our dynamic faculty strive to make connections among courses while spiraling knowledge from year to year. They accomplish this through a focus on continuous improvement and individual student growth; therefore supporting the school’s unofficial motto of inspiring the promise in each child. This results in a student body which understands that the interconnectedness and unity of academic disciplines mirrors life beyond the classroom.
