Welcome to the Intermediate School
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Old Trail School Intermediate School - Grades 3-5!
Our Intermediate School was formally named in the 2007-08 school year as we saw the need to provide a bridge between Primary School (K-2) and Middle School (6-8). As the division “in between” we build upon the solid foundation of skill development, process learning and the acquisition of conceptual understanding that children begin developing in the primary grades. As students journey through these three intermediate grades they become increasingly responsible, organized and independent – ready for the challenges of life in the middle school.
The core values of Respect, Goodness, Responsibility and Service continue to guide our academic program as well as the interpersonal interactions and relationships between and among children and adults. This is a very special age group. They are easily motivated, eager to try new things, very active, and have lots of energy – all of which make for much fun, pleasure and enjoyment for children and adults alike.
