Welcome back to OTS from the Parents’ Association
Mission: To promote understanding and cooperation between parents, teachers and staff, and to supplement the educational, financial and cultural resources of the school.
Who is a member?? YOU ARE – Every parent having a child attend OTS is a member – it is included in your tuition.
Meetings: Every other month, the first Tuesday, after assembly. Usually held in the dining room. Your attendance is welcome and needed. The first meeting will be held Tuesday September 7th, after assembly. John Farber will speak briefly. The Auction will be discussed as well.
How can I find out about upcoming activities?
- Website: Under Parent’s tab – a wealth of information kept updated
- Bulletin Board outside of the Dining Room contains a Calendar of Events
- Buffalo Bytes weekly on line newspaper
- Talk to your executive board representatives – 3 reps for Primary , 2 for Intermediate, 1 for Middle School – their names are found in the Parent handbook and Directory
How Can I Help? – Find out how at our first Parents’ meeting on September 7th!
- Support the Auction! – It’s our major fundraiser and a lot of fun. There are many opportunities to participate, donate, setup and clean up.
- Participate in other fund raising programs like Gift Cards, Buffalo Boutique, Box Tops/Campbell’s Labels, Birthday Book Club, and Market Day. Volunteer your time to help. Committee chairs can be found in the Directory
- Take advantage of informal activities like the Hayride/Bonfire, Ladies Night Out, Family Night Out, and Clothing Swap. Get to know other parents.
- Join other mission support activities like library and lunchroom volunteers, or assembly planning. OTS Appreciation can always use your help and ideas.
- Room coordinators work closely with the teachers to implement room parties, class projects and assist with copying. A great chance to work with children in the classroom.
Are you thinking, “I am too busy!”?
It is true that more mothers are returning to work or starting their own businesses, thus having less time to spend at school. I am working as well. I still think it is important to participate and use my strengths to be an integral part of my child’s education. It is a chance to ensure myself that my tuition dollars are put to the best use possible.
Help me to make this a great year for all of us!
