Old Trail School

Is it possible that the halfway point of the school year just passed up by? It seems like just yesterday that we were all taking “first day of school” pictures!

Our Chinese New Year Auction was a big success! Our financial results were close to last year and we are grateful for everyone’s generous support in these tough, economic times. Our parent survey garnered many wonderful comments and ideas and the Parents’ Association is reviewing all ideas carefully. The overriding commentary is best summed up by a parent who said: “I can’t envision another event that would combine the enormous volunteer support, a great social occasion and significant fund raising all at once!”

There are numerous Parents’ Association sponsored events coming up! Some are geared to specific groups and some include the entire OTS community:

First on the schedule is a family bowling event at Legend Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls….mark your calendars for Sunday, February 21 from 2 – 4 p.m. and join us for bowling, games, snacks and beverages.

The Old Trail School Staff and Faculty Appreciation Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, February 26 and will have a birthday party theme. There are many opportunities to help….bring food or drinks, volunteer the day of for the lunch or on the playground, decorate etc., etc. Please contact Nancy Forhan if you are interested in helping at nanhan3@aol.com or 330-650-6383.

Close on the heels of this party is the Old Trail School dress code clothing recycling event which will take place during conferences on March 4 and 5. Bring your outgrown but usable clothing and peruse the tables for clothing your children can use…..Bring what you can and take what you need!

Then our Primary School Parents’ Association Board Reps are sponsoring another family event, a cartoon festival, on the afternoon of Sunday, March 21. More details to follow!

Information on all of these events, and many more will be posted on the website (PA Events Calendar), on the bulletin board across from the business office, and in Buffalo Bytes…..keep checking for additional details!
