Our belief is that we are better equipped to learn and to lead when our thoughts are tested by others, particularly by those whose thoughts, experiences or identities are different from our own. By skillfully engaging in our differences – whether they are grounded in race; ethnicity; national or geographic origin; religious, philosophical or political beliefs; gender or gender identity; sexual orientation; age; physical ability; family structure, socioeconomic status or life experience – we develop a greater understanding of the world and how we can be of service to it.

Old Trail School is a vibrant educational community focused on academic excellence. We develop intellectually curious, independent thinking students who emerge with a passion for discovery, critical thinking and collaborative learning. Our graduates are well prepared to become responsible global citizens who achieve in high school, college and life.
Created to reflect honestly on our current practices and culture, ask difficult questions, identify areas of growth, and guide the school's DEI actions. This group will include members of the school's board, administration, faculty, staff, parents and alumni.
A student-focused DEI committee has been formed that includes middle school students. This group will discuss issues of inclusivity on campus and in the curriculum, and will use their meetings to share thoughts, offer feedback and develop programming in the future.
