Academic Challenge Team Shines at Copley Quiz Bowl

Academic Challenge Team Shines at Copley Quiz Bowl

Our Middle School Academic Challenge Team represented OTS well at the highly competitive Copley Quiz Bowl in December. Competing against a field of 48 teams from 19 schools, the Old Trail team emerged as a standout contender, finishing with an impressive 6-2 record—including an undefeated streak during the afternoon session.

While the team's impressive record speaks volumes about their preparation and knowledge, what truly sets them apart is the spirit of camaraderie and determination they displayed throughout the competition. Each team member played an integral role, whether by answering challenging questions or by supporting one another when it mattered most. Special recognition goes to the team’s newer members, who demonstrated outstanding courage by buzzing in for the first time. Their willingness to contribute, despite being newer to the fast-paced environment of quiz bowl competitions, exemplifies the resilient and supportive culture of Old Trail School.

The Academic Challenge team is one of several enriching middle school electives offered at Old Trail School throughout the school year, providing students with opportunities to develop critical thinking, teamwork and confidence in a supportive environment.

Congratulations to team advisor Mrs. Horn and all our competitors!
