Eighth Grader Performs with International Piano Legend

Eighth grader Alex '24 was selected to perform alongside international piano legend Lang Lang at Cleveland's Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus Auditorium.

Alex, a talented musician, has been playing the piano since age four. She currently studies piano with Grammy winner Dr. Angelin Chang at Cleveland State University and has received numerous awards in her nine years of playing the instrument.

Alex's passion for the piano has been evident from a young age, and her dedication to her craft has led to numerous accolades and recognitions. Her selection to perform with Lang Lang is a testament to her exceptional skill and hard work. Lang Lang, a world-renowned pianist known for his virtuosity and expressive performances, has inspired countless young musicians around the globe. For Alex, this opportunity to share the stage with such a prominent figure in the music world is both an honor and a significant milestone in her musical journey.

Alex '24 is recognized after her performance at Metropolitan Campus Auditorium.

The 101 Pianists event is a community-centered initiative that brings together 100 young pianists from Northeast Ohio schools. It aims to foster a sense of community and collaboration among young musicians, providing them with the opportunity to learn from and perform with one another. The event culminates in a master class and a public performance, where the young pianists showcase their talents and celebrate the beauty and social nature of the piano.

Participating in this event allowed Alex to not only perform alongside Lang Lang but also to engage in a unique educational experience. The master class provided her with valuable insights and guidance from one of the world's leading pianists, enhancing her understanding and appreciation of the instrument.

Congratulations, Alex, on this incredible accomplishment! Your dedication and talent have brought you to this remarkable opportunity, and we look forward to seeing your continued growth and success in the world of music.
