Registration Now Open For the Annual 5K and Kids Dash

Registration is open for the 4th annual Cuyahoga Valley Cross Country 5K and Kids Dash, a community event that continues to grow in both participation and enthusiasm each year.

The 5K and Kids Dash are presented by our title sponsor The Shireen Shackelford Team at CrossCountry Mortgage. Set for Saturday, June 6, the race invites runners of all ages and abilities to experience a morning outdoors in one of Northeast Ohio’s most scenic settings—Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The 5K beings at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 1-mile Kids Dash at 10:00 a.m. Click here to register!

What sets this event apart is its distinctive cross country course. Participants will traverse rolling hills, open fields, and take in stunning views of Indigo Lake, creating a race experience that is both challenging and memorable. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or trying a 5K for the first time, the course offers something truly unique.

Designed with the entire family in mind, younger participants and families members may also take part in the Kids Dash, a high-energy race that introduces children to the excitement of running in a fun and supportive environment.

Early Bird Deadline: May 15
Participants are encouraged to register early. Those who sign up by Friday, May 15 will receive Early Bird pricing and a complimentary race day T-shirt. Registration for the 5K is $35 through May 15 and $40 after, while the Kids Dash is just $5, making it an accessible option for families.

Runners may come with different goals—some aiming for a personal best, others using the race as part of training for a longer distance, and many simply looking to enjoy an active morning with friends and family. No matter the reason, the event offers a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Race day highlights include:

  • Medals awarded to top finishers across multiple 5K divisions
  • A fun and engaging Kids Dash
  • Light refreshments and a food truck available near the finish line

Now in its fourth year, the Cuyahoga Valley Cross Country 5K and Kids Dash continues to bring together participants from across the region, including members of the Old Trail School community and beyond.

Whether returning to the course or attending for the first time, participants are invited to be part of this growing tradition.
