On Thursday, June 6, Old Trail School warmly welcomed friends and family to celebrate the Class of 2024 graduation. The event was marked by a heartfelt invocation delivered by Rabbi Josh Brown, whose wife, Carrie Brown, is a Middle School Teacher at Old Trail. This was followed by a welcome from Sarah Johnston, OTS Head of School, setting a celebratory tone for the evening.
The highlight of the ceremony was the address by Maeve Mulroy, chosen as the class speaker. In her speech, Maeve reflected deeply on the enduring friendships and profound connections forged among her peers during their formative years at Old Trail School. Her words resonated with nostalgia and gratitude for the community they had built together.
"I hope as we leave Old Trail and continue to change all through high school and maybe even college that we never stray from who we are; and that we never lose memories of the warmth and kindness we felt and gave at Old Trail," said Maeve. "I hope we stay true to ourselves and our dreams. Everyone in this class can do what they put their mind to."
Adding to the cultural richness of the evening, Alex Zhang, a talented member of the graduating class, showcased his musical prowess with a performance of Concerto No. 3 in G Major on the violin, captivating the audience with his skill and artistry.
This year also introduced a new tradition at Old Trail School, honoring the legacy of alumni who are now parents of the Class of 2024 graduates. These esteemed alumni were invited to join the ceremony and proudly present diplomas to their children, symbolizing the continuation of Old Trail's cherished traditions through generations.
As the evening concluded, heartfelt congratulations were extended to all graduates, coupled with wishes of success and fulfillment in their future endeavors. The ceremony reaffirmed the profound sense of pride and belonging that resonates within the Old Trail School community, reminding graduates that they will always have a home at Old Trail.
