Grade 5 Immersive Learning at CVEEC
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately." - Henry David Thoreau, Walden
Grade 5 students spent three days and two nights immersed in an outdoor learning program facilitated by the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center from Stepember 14-16.
They explored ecosystems native to the Cuyahoga Valley, conducted water testing as citizen scientists, classified organisms found in our local waterways, and gained heightened awareness about how to be good stewards of our shared natural resources.
With authentic, real-world learning experiences as the cornerstone, our students emerged with lasting memories and closer relationships to propel themselves into an unforgettable fifth grade school year.
