April Pop-Ups and Akron Zoo Staycation

A pair of OTS+ Pop-Ups and a special Staycation on the Head of School holiday have been planned for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 during the month of April.

Pop-up classes are held after school from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Registered students will go to OTS+ Homebase after school until the Pop-Up begins. Families may pick up directly from the dining room at 5:00 p.m., or children may remain in OTS+ up until 6:00 p.m.

  • April 13 Pop-Up — Plants are Friends (K-2) with Brooke Joy: Spring is a time to see new sprouts and see the natural world come to life. In this Pop-Up, children will create a custom pot and then plant a small houseplant to take home. Fun with dirt and paint will be had by all. Register
  • April 20 Pop-Up — Fun with Chemistry (Grades 3-5) with Margi Gilbert: Are you interested in chemistry? Have you always wanted to experiment with test tubes, pipettes, funnels and beakers? Well, come join Mrs. Gilbert in an exploration of beginning chemistry! We will be making a test tube rainbow and learning how to properly use chemistry lab equipment. Register
  • April 24 Staycation — Akron Zoo (K-5): Roar, growl and chirp your way through the Akron Zoo with your friends at the last Staycation of the school year! Rain or shine, we will stroll through the zoo and learn about all of the amazing animals within. Students should come dressed in footwear good for walking. Please bring a brown-bag packed lunch. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the field trip leaving at 10:00 a.m. Drop-off and Pick-up will be at the Sisler-McFawn entrance. Register
