Do you remember Claire from our One Gift. One Voice. campaign? Earlier this month, this brave little preschooler traveled with her mom to use her voice to advocate for increased funding for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) under House Bill 33.
The cause is extremely close to Claire and her family. Her uncle Ryan, who has severe I/DD, has suffered tremendously. Yet, Claire knows this problem is very fixable. She testified before the Senate Medicaid Committee, independently encouraging them to, "Please make the world nice for Uncle Ryan. Uncle Ryan needs care and love and people who don't steal his voice."
Claire is proof you don't to be an adult to make a difference. When students use their voices, the impact is profound. We are so proud of Claire for using her voice to stand up for those in need.
