We are proud to share that 17 Old Trail students have been selected to participate in the 2023 Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), District 6 Honors Middle School Band, Choir and Orchestra Festival on Saturday, February 18, at Streetsboro High School.
Nominations for this prestigious honor were submitted by music teachers across Northeast Ohio. Final decisions were made by the OMEA selection committee based on individual students' musical level and accomplishments.
Of Old Trail's 17 honorees, which represents the largest group ever to represent OTS, 10 were selected for Honors Orchestra, five for Honors Band and two for Honors Choir:

The students will rehearse with their respective ensembles and in sectionals throughout the course of the day and perform a concert for their families at 6:00 p.m. in the Streetsboro High School Auditorium.
Old Trail will be further represented by Band and Strings Teacher Laura Joss, who has been selected as one of three conductors for OMEA District #6. Mrs. Joss, who was Chair of the Music Education Department at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music for many years, will conduct the Honors Orchestra, while Dr. Benjamin Lorenzo from Kent State University will conduct the Honors Band and Dr. Anne Usher from the University of Akron will conduct the Honors Choir.
