Toddler-Adult (18-30 Months)

Research has repeatedly shown that the best time to invest in a child's education is in the earliest years. We believe a child's first school experience should not only be educational, but exciting and nurturing as well.

Our Toddler-Adult Program, which is designed for children ages 18-30 months of age, lays the foundation for exploration, wonder and communication at a time when children are curious about new experiences, but still reliant on the steady presence of a trusted adult. Together, toddlers and their ‘grown-ups’ will become part of a small community that encourages play and exploration—the ways in which children learn best.

Our program is designed to equip parents and caregivers with the tools to help young children develop secure adult attachments, socialization, attention, language acquisition and cooperation skills.

Bridging the transition between home and school

Led by an experienced Old Trail Early Childhood teacher, adults will be guided in ways to meaningfully interact with children through play, songs and interactive story time. In a warm and nurturing environment, children will:

  • Become a part of a trusted community.
  • Practice independence.
  • Discover that other adults are part of their trusted community.
  • Strengthen communication skills and expression between the children and adults.

When children have intentional, playful interactions with their caregivers, they create connections that foster meaningful relationships, develop a strong sense of self, and better understand and communicate their own emotions and needs.
