Old Trail School summer programs represent an exciting array of specialized camps for every interest. Each week, we offer programs designed to present children, ages 3-14, opportunities to explore, grow, play and learn—all in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

This year's summer programs will run for nine weeks, starting on June 6 and concluding on August 5. With camps offered in the morning, in the afternoon and some all-day, many families combine multiple sessions to fill each week with variety. Old Trail's signature summer program is flexible to meet the needs of busy families while, as the same time, stimulating to spark the interests of curious children ready to dive deeper into their passions.

Meet Our Camp Directors

Jessica Cvelbar, Camp Director

Jessica was named Summer Camp Director in 2019 but is certainly no stranger to the OTS community, having served various roles at the school for the past 10 years.  She brings a curious and creative eye to the programming of Old Trail Summer Camp and believes one of the most important parts of the camp experience is for children to try. As an adult, she decided to try horseback riding and now owns her own horse named Joker! She can't wait to see what new things our campers will try this year.

Kara Kristoff, Assistant Camp Director

Kara was named Assistant Camp Director in 2019 after serving as a camp instructor for several years. Overall, this is her ninth year as a member of the OTS community and her fourth year teaching kindergarten. She is a graduate of Kent State University (BS, MEd.) and lives in a log cabin in Brunswick with her husband, son (Camden), dog and cat. During her down time, Kara loves reading, music and gardening. She is excited to see all our campers – both those returning and those experiencing it for the first time – at Old Trail this summer!
