Intellectual curiosity and seeking knowledge have been at the foundation of an Old Trail education since its founding by Dr. William Parks and Dr. William Geer in 1920. Drs. Parks and Geer envisioned a school where knowledge, play, curiosity, and imagination were learned and fostered. They hoped this new school would offer an education unlike anything else one would find in Akron and serve as a model for other schools.
Nearly 100 years later, Old Trail School continues to have a profound impact on the lives of its students – exposing them to new ideas, challenging and encouraging them to think critically, fostering creativity and instilling in them a love for learning. Old Trail is a space for individuals to seek knowledge and engage in deep, intellectual discussions.
With this philosophy in mind, we are excited to introduce our new “Hear, Here” speaker series for adults in the Old Trail community and beyond. Featuring two speakers per year, these intimate, moderated discussions will seek to challenge and broaden our perspectives on contemporary issues.
