Welcome to a new and exciting year at Old Trail School!

All parents are members of the Old Trail School Parents’ Association (OTSPA). We partner with the School, to support School programs and provide activities, volunteer and fundraising opportunities that enhance the educational and social experience for the Old Trail Community.

Our mission is to bring people together to build a strong OTS community and align resources with the vision and direction of the School with an emphasis on enhancing the dynamic educational experiences of our children.

We invite everyone to engage in our diverse community so that we may support the OTS Mission of creating a dynamic environment of academic excellence, service learning and global sustainability.

  • Our Focus

    This year, our focus will be on the following goals:

    • Support our children, families and School by aligning with our Core Values through service, volunteerism and community engagement.
    • Foster a strong sense of community and inclusion by engaging and celebrating our diverse families.
    • Support the OTS faculty, staff and administration as a representative voice for the School community.
  • Get Connected!

    Old Trail School is a thriving community with many unique opportunities to engage and support our children. Last year we launched OTS Connects!, a forum for engaging and connecting our school community that aligns with the OTS Core Values and celebrates our diversity.

    Many valuable offerings that we’ve enjoyed over the years are available including: Book Club, parent coffees, Parents’ University and more. In addition, we will expand opportunities to connect on a School-wide basis as well as grade and division level activities that are inclusive and engaging for all. Activities allow parents and families to engage in our School, learn about our
    curriculum and celebrate our beautiful campus.

    OTS Connects! School-wide activities are listed on the School calendar while division and grade level activities will be communicated via the Division Directors, Teachers and Parent Coordinators.

  • Ways to Volunteer

    Your time and talent is our precious resource. There is something for everyone! You can volunteer for a wide array of activities based on your individual interests. Examples of some opportunities include:

    • Volunteering in your child’s classroom
    • Assisting in the library or dining room
    • Supporting our staff appreciation efforts throughout the year
    • Helping with School functions and events
    • Participating in fundraising opportunities such as shopping/reward programs that benefit our School including:
      Box Tops, Giant Eagle, Heinen’s, iGive, and Amazon Smile
    • Mentoring new families through our Buffalo Buddy Program
    • Participating in OTS Connects!

  • Buffalo Buddies

    The OTSPA works closely with the Admission Office staff to support the entry and transition of new families in the School Community. Volunteer parents at several grade/division levels work closely with new parents to educate and support them as they become members of this incredible community. The Buddies provide assistance with introducing new students to returning students and helping parents who have relocated to the area connect with local resources.
  • Fundraising

    The OTSPA is involved in several strategic fundraising programs each year to support the School and students. Thanks to these efforts, the School has been the recipient of more than $8,500 in support in the last four years. This support provides for new playground equipment, water bottle filling stations throughout the School, classroom furniture and more.

    Parents are encouraged to support these fundraising programs that are simple and do not require any direct contribution of funds to the School. These include shopping (local and online) at Amazon, Giant Eagle, Heinen’s and iGive - Click here for instructions about how each of these programs works and enrollment directions. The Parents’ Association also manages a Box Tops for Education program that provides funds directly to the School. Click here to learn more. The Parents’ Association is led by an Executive Board of eight officers who serve one-year terms. The Executive Board is supported by Parent Coordinators at each grade level as well as “Buffalo Buddies” and Committee Leads.
