Future Cities

Grade 7 students completed their Future City Competition Projects recently. For this project, teams were asked to dream up their ideal city 100 years in the future, and they had to think about how to solve a problem that their city faced.
This year's problem was "How will your city handle a natural disaster?". Some cities had special concrete roads that absorbed water from flooding, others had earthquake-proof buildings, and some solved the issue of drought by having solar power to back up their dried out hydro-electric power grid.

Everyone worked incredibly hard on this project resulting in wonderful city designs. The competition was held last Friday, and Ella, Jackson and Anderson were chosen to represent Old Trail at the state competition in January - way to go!
