OTS students, parents, faculty, and staff joined the national movement to "take a day on, not a day off" last Monday by participating in service-oriented activities throughout the morning to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
Our youngest students made "Old Trail Mix" and thank you cards for the Bath Police and Fire departments, while Intermediate students cooked a meal for the Family Promise of Summit County, crafted fleece blankets for patients at Akron Children's Hospital, and hand-crafted capes for the Akron-based, non-profit organization, Kid Capes Courage of Courage. At the same time, Middle School students took a bus to Haven of Rest Ministries to help make beds and clean rooms.
As Dr. King once said, "Everyone can be great because anybody can serve." Many thanks to all who were able to join us for a meaningful morning. Our communities are stronger when volunteers unite!
