Class of 2020 Spotlight: Reece B.

To recognize the Old Trail Class of 2020, we will be showcasing Grade 8 students on our website and social media over the next several weeks. Today's spotlight is Reece B.
Reece has been at OTS for six years and will be attending Hudson High School in the fall. He will graduate with many fond memories, varied interests and the pride of knowing that he overcame a major fear during his time at Old Trail.

We recently asked him to reflect back on his time at Old Trail. Here are his responses:

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement at Old Trail? Why?
My greatest achievement at Old Trail is being able to talk with everybody and presenting in front of my class. When I came to Old Trail I was very shy and didn't talk to many people. But now I can talk to everyone and to me, friends are a very important part of school. I have also beaten my fear of presenting to a big crowd and was able to perform a solo on my saxophone and lead during our community assemblies in front of the whole school.

What are some fun facts about you that people may not know?
Some things that people may not know are that I perform card magic, I love to run, and I've recently found an interest in cooking.

What is your favorite Old Trail memory?
My favorite Old Trail memories are the overnight field trips to Chicago and Tremont. I loved being able to spend time with my friends and explore different places.

What will you miss most about Old Trail School?
The hardest thing for sure about leaving Old Trail is not being able to see my friends and teachers every day. I've always loved coming to school and being able to see and talk to my friends and engage in class with my teachers.

Old Trail School is an independent day school (toddler through grade eight) located in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
